Plain reading editionAbout the novel
Greg Martin is a forty-six-year-old music teacher in Brighton — a failed jazz pianist, a half-absent father, the kind of man who has been losing his daughter for nine years and has not yet admitted it.
Ella, his seventeen-year-old daughter, makes poems and drawings on an anonymous Instagram account her mother knows about and her father does not. When Greg discovers the account, he finds a hidden creative life he has never been allowed to see. And in the moment of discovery — under conditions he tells himself are protective — he makes a choice that cannot be taken back.
A Door Made of Ink is a novel about seeing and being seen, about the wrong reader at the right moment, and about the small accumulated trespasses by which a father becomes the wound he is trying to soothe.

Order the paperback edition through Amazon UK using the book ISBN. The cost of the book is the cost to me, in order to make it available in places other than Amazon, which I felt was the correct option.
